SAFE San Juans, formerly Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services (DVSAS), is a non-profit agency serving the residents and visitors of San Juan County, a beautiful cluster of small community islands located in the northwest corner of Washington state, up near the Canadian border. SAFE stands for Social change, Advocacy, Transformation, and Education. Our mission is the prevention and elimination of domestic violence and sexual assault through victim services, education, community awareness and cultural and social change. All of our services are free and confidential, and our agency serves people regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, income status, creed, or sexual orientation. We have offices on San Juan, Orcas, and Lopez island, as well as 24 hour crisis lines for each of these.
Our mission is the prevention and elimination of domestic violence and sexual assault through victim services, education, community awareness, and social and cultural change.
We help survivors use their own strengths and abilities so they can experience their full potential. We are a dual agency and a 4 time Accredited State Certified Sexual Assault Program. This means we provide direct services for domestic violence (DV) victims and core services for sexual assault/abuse (SA) survivors. We also provide prevention and awareness programs in the community and schools.
It doesn't matter who you are, we are here to help. Please contact us with any questions.
