About the event
SAFE San Juans, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, and the San Juan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office will be holding a community planning meeting on Sept. 14 to solicit input on the following questions and/or concerns from the community:
1. Emerging or ongoing issues in cases of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking.
2. Community priorities for these issues in the year ahead.
3. Reducing, or reducing the risk of, domestic violence homicides.
4. Community concerns related to the three agencies, services, activities, priorities, or issues that were discussed.
The agencies mentioned above share a small grant (the STOP Grant) that primarily helps support victim advocacy at SAFE San Juans and the Prosecutor’s Office (Victim Witness services) and supports training, etc. in the Law Enforcement area. The purpose of the meeting is to allow interested parties an opportunity to give input/feedback regarding those uses or focus.
The meeting will be held from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom. If you are interested in participating or want someone else from your organization to participate, email me (dave@safesj.org) and request a Zoom invite. More details will be provided with the invite. For questions about the meeting, feel free to contact Dave at SAFE San Juans (360-378-8680).
